Co2 Lynton Lasers for skin tags, moles and skin resurfacing

As the skin is the largest organ of the body, it is bound to be flawed by skin lesions such as skin tags, moles, dark spots and the signs of the natural ageing process. At Bank MediSpa in Hale, Cheshire we pride ourselves in offering the very latest in clinical-grade technology, so that you can achieve superb results and clearer, healthier looking skin, with little to no downtime and without going under the knife. One such technology, which can remove unsightly moles, skin tags and resurface the skin safely, is the CO2 laser from Lynton Lasers.

What is a CO2 laser?

In a CO2 laser treatment, carbon dioxide laser beams penetrate the top layers of the skin, reaching in to the deeper dermal layers. It creates microscopic areas of thermal damage to the skin, which stimulates new collagen production as a healing response and replaces the damaged skin surface with new epidermal cells. In cases of mole and skin tag removal, the CO2 laser will excise the pigmentation of the lesion and over a period of time, the lesion will be cleared away by the body’s own repair mechanisms.

FAQs

Lynton Lasers is one of the world’s most respected medical-grade laser manufacturers and has a history of excellence since 1994. They have won numerous awards over the years for their British manufactured equipment and have helped support hundreds of medical and aesthetic practices. Am I suitable for CO2 laser treatment at Bank MediSpa?

Before any treatment can commence here at Bank MediSpa in Hale, Cheshire, we will ask that you attend a no obligation consultation, so that we can assess your individual concerns and assess your skin. We will also check your medical history to ensure that there are no contraindications to prevent or restrict your CO2 laser treatment. Once both you and your practitioner are satisfied that CO2 laser will be both safe and effective for you to undergo, you can book your first treatment session.

What happens during a treatment?

You will also need to avoid sun exposure for a few days prior to your CO2 laser treatment. On the day of your session, your skin will be cleansed and your practitioner will place the CO2 hand piece on to the area/s to be treated. The sensation is rather like an elastic band being flicked on to your skin, but is not overly painful and cooling technology is used to minimise any discomfort. Depending on the number of lesions or area of skin to be treated, the session can last anything from 15 minutes to an hour.

When will I see the results from my CO2 laser treatment?

Many patients can see some skin improvement after just one treatment. However, depending on the size of skin lesion or skin tag to be treated, further sessions may be required to optimise results.

How long do the results last from CO2 laser treatment for mole and skin tag removal and skin resurfacing?

CO2 laser will permanently remove unwanted moles or skin tags. However, you might find that new skin tags may form if they are in areas of friction (such as under the arms or behind the knees). In cases of skin resurfacing for pigmentation or wrinkles, results can last many years, however, you will need to protect your skin from the sun as well as maintain a healthy skin routine. CO2 laser will not stop the ageing process, but as this is an intensive treatment, you may find that your skin is considerably more younger looking, smoother and more healthy, following a course of CO2 laser treatments. The number of treatments required will be discussed in your preliminary consultation.

What do I do after my CO2 laser treatment?

• Avoid sun exposure for 48 hours.
• Avoid hot baths, steam rooms, saunas – anything that may aggravate the skin.
• Do not wax, cream or epilate the skin that has been treated.
• Drink plenty of water so that your skin is kept hydrated.
• Avoid highly scented creams or perfumed lotions.
• You may wish to use a cooling pad on the treated area.
