What is the CoolPeel Laser from Lynton Lasers?

The SmartXide CO2 laser from Lynton Lasers is a state-of-the-art ablative fractional laser which offers highly advanced skin resurfacing, including the reduction of all types of scars, pigmentation and dyschromia, with little-to-no downtime. The SmartXide offers a high-peak-power, short pulse, delivering a fully-ablative treatment, but without causing thermal damage to the surrounding skin tissues. Without this thermal damage, post-treatment downtime is dramatically minimised, whilst the system delivers highly-effective superficial skin-resurfacing results.

Am I suitable for CO2 laser treatment at Bank MediSpa?


Before any treatment can commence here at Bank MediSpa in Hale, Cheshire, we will ask that you attend a no obligation consultation, so that we can assess your individual concerns and assess your skin. We will also check your medical history to ensure that there are no contraindications to prevent or restrict your CoolPeel laser treatment. Once both you and your practitioner are satisfied that CoolPeel laser treatment will be both safe and effective for you to undergo, you can book your first treatment session.

What happens during a treatment?


You will also need to avoid sun exposure for a few days prior to your CoolPeel laser treatment. On the day of your session, your skin will be cleansed and your practitioner will place the CoolPeel hand piece on to the area/s to be treated. The sensation is rather like an elastic band being flicked on to your skin, but is not overly painful and cooling technology is used to minimise any discomfort. Depending on the severity of your skin ageing, a course of treatments may be required. This will be discussed and agreed in your initial consultation.

When will I see the results from my CoolPeel laser treatment?

Many patients can see some skin improvement after just one treatment. However, you may require a course of treatment if your skin is showing advanced signs of ageing, pigmentation or dehydration. Further improvements will be seen as the skin begins to repair itself and new collagen production is increased.

How long do the results last, from a course of CoolPeel laser treatments?

CoolPeel laser can offer permanent improvements to your skin. However, CoolPeel laser will not stop the ageing process and you will need to protect your skin from the sun and good quality skin products to maintain your results. Eating a healthy diet, drinking plenty of water and avoiding harmful lifestyle choices such as smoking, can further improve your skin health and maintain your results for longer.

What do I do after my CoolPeel laser treatment?

• Avoid sun exposure for 48 hours.
• Avoid hot baths, steam rooms, saunas – anything that may aggravate the skin.
• Do not wax, cream or epilate the skin that has been treated.
• Drink plenty of water so that your skin is kept hydrated.
• Avoid highly scented creams or perfumed lotions.
• You may wish to use a cooling pad on the treated area.
