Derma Fillers are a safe and effective procedure to help smooth out problem areas and tackle signs of skin ageing. Made of hyaluronic acid, which is found naturally in the body, dermal fillers can volumise, augment and hydrate the skin.
At Bank MediSpa, we use the market-leading product Juvéderm®, which is renowned for natural-looking and long-lasting results. It also contains the local anaesthetic lidocaine for ultimate comfort during your procedure.
Unlike other aesthetic treatments that can only be used in certain facial features, dermal filler can be used in the cheekbones, around the mouth, nose, chin, temples, lips, and cheeks for a full facial rejuvenation. Hyaluronic acid fillers can restore volume and improve symmetry in the overall facial anatomy.
Smile lines, lip lines, nasolabial folds, jawline definition and jowl softening, deep folds and wrinkles, sunken cheeks, decolletage, acne scarring and temple hollowing. They can also be used to reduce tear troughs, augment the lips, enhance the cheekbones, remodel the chin, and reshape the nose.
A very fine needle is used for the treatment itself, making the whole process as comfortable as possible for you. Afterwards, there may be some redness or swelling in the treated area, but this settles down very quickly.
Local anaesthetic is applied to the skin to minimise discomfort. They are generally not painful. However, treatment around the nose and lips tends to be more uncomfortable than other areas.
You will see the effects of fillers straight away. Your skin will be visibly plumped, smoother and contoured. However, you may have to wait for any redness, or swelling to go down, before you can get a better idea of your new look. The effects last for 6-9 months, after which time you can have a top up treatment.
Some redness and mild swelling is expected for most dermal fillers, but this is nothing to worry about. It will subside gradually over the first 24-72 hours, with most people seeing improvement in 3-5 days.
We advise you to avoid touching the area treated, strenuous exercise, alcohol, oil-based makeup, and further facial treatments during the first few days, for an effective healing process. Staying hydrated, keeping the area clean, and applying a cold compress can reduce swelling.
