Tear trough corrective treatment at Bank MediSpa

A common condition that affects both men & women is the hollowing of the area under the eyes, known as the tear trough. They can be caused by ageing as the skin in the area becomes thinner and facial fat descends under the eye but can also be genetic and appear in young people. These physical hollows under the eyes cast a shadow that may make you look tired and aged and are generally harder to cover and reduce than eye bags and dark circles. Dermal fillers are an effective way of reducing the hollow appearance and can also target puffy eyes and dark circles.

Bank MediSpa carry out corrective treatment of the tear troughs with careful placement of a hyaluronic acid based dermal fillers, which are naturally biodegradable and perfectly safe for the delicate eye area. When dermal fillers are used in this area, they can add volume from underneath the skin to fill the under-eye hollows and create a smoother, brighter, and subtly rejuvenated appearance.

Safe and effective treatment

Here at Bank MediSpa we use tear trough filler to treat:
• Hollows under the eyes
• Fine lines or crepey skin under the eyes
• Dark circles under the eyes
• Subtle under-eye bags (BeautifEye is also a great option for this)

Frequently asked questions

What are dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers are a safe and effective procedure to help smooth out problem areas and tackle signs of skin ageing. Made of hyaluronic acid, found naturally in the body, dermal fillers can volumize, augment and hydrate the skin.

Which dermal filler do you use?

At Bank MediSpa we use the marketing-leading product Juvéderm®.

Are dermal fillers painful?

Local anaesthetic is applied to the skin to minimise discomfort. They are generally not painful. However, treatment around the nose and lips tends to be more uncomfortable than other areas.

How long do dermal fillers last?

You will see the effects of fillers straight away. Your skin will be visibly plumped, smoother and contoured. However, you may have to wait for any redness, or swelling to go down, before you can get a better idea of your new look. The effects last for 6-9 months, after which time you can have a top up treatment.

Is there any downtime?

A very fine needle is used for the treatment itself, making the whole process as comfortable as possible for you. Afterwards, there may be some redness, or swelling in the treated area, but this settles down very quickly
